Auxiliares de conversación por los centros de Santander
(Entrevista traducida al castellano)
Anushka Sidsadia, es una joven de veinticuatro años de origen Indio, que durante veintidós años ha vivido en Londres y que actualmente se encuentra en Santander, donde está dando sus pequeños pasos para alcanzar su sueño y así convertirse en una brillante profesora.
Esta andadura en su trayectoria ha empezado en el colegio Purísima Concepción de Santander, en el que acude tres días lectivos a la semana, fomentando el bilingüismo en el centro con la alegría y cariño que la caracteriza.

¿Qué echas de menos de Inglaterra?
Anushka
Buena pregunta. Echo de menos, en primer lugar, y sobre todo, a mi familia y a mis amigos, porque aquí he venido sola. Así que echo de menos ver a mis amigos. Echo de menos a mi familia, a mi madre, a mi padre y a mi hermano. También echo de menos. Así que en Inglaterra, tenemos el desayuno inglés. Que son frijoles horneados con tostadas. ¿Sabes lo que son las judías al horno? No. Es un plato muy aburrido, pero lo echo de menos. Algunas de las comidas que echo de menos y sí, eso es todo.

¿Cuándo fue la última vez que lo visitaste? ¿Qué es lo que más te gusta de volver?
Anushka
¿La última vez que visité Inglaterra? La última vez que estuve en Inglaterra fue en septiembre. Así que terminé mi maestría y la universidad y volví a Londres para ver a mi familia y viajar con mis amigos y pasamos un muy buen verano. Y luego vine aquí a trabajar. ¿Y cuál era la segunda parte de tu pregunta?

¿Qué es lo que más le gusta de volver?

¿Qué es lo que más me gusta de volver? Probablemente la comodidad de estar en casa con mi madre. La cocina de mi madre es increíble. Así que me encanta volver por la comida.

¿Hay alguien a quien admires?
Anushka
Admiro, como románticamente o alguien que admiro, como un modelo a seguir, ¿Cómo? ¿La pregunta es alguien que admiro como un modelo a seguir?

… como persona.
Anushka
Persona. Así que una persona que es como un papel o alguien que admiro es, Michelle Obama. No sólo es una buena escritora y habla muy bien, sino que me encantan los valores que ella representa. Es muy amable. Es muy humilde. Intenta hacer el bien a la gente. Y creo que es un buen modelo a seguir para que la gente la admire.

¿Por qué quieres ser profesora?
Anushka
Buena pregunta. Me encanta enseñar porque creo que es muy especial ayudar a los estudiantes en su camino. Y cuando era más joven, todavía recuerdo a los profesores que me enseñaron y a los que fueron realmente buenos. Me cambiaron la vida. Y los profesores que eran, por ejemplo, mi profesor de geografía era realmente bueno. Y también tuve una clase de diseño, vosotros tenéis clase de tecnología, ¿verdad? Así que tuve una profesora de diseño y tecnología que también era brillante. Y como creían en mí, me ayudaron. Me hicieron ser ambiciosa. Realmente cambiaron mi vida y me ayudaron mucho. Así que espero que también pueda ayudar a otros estudiantes porque los profesores tienen una misión, es muy importante tener buenos profesores.

¿Qué es lo que más te gusta de España?
Anushka
Me gusta mucho la gente de aquí porque la gente es muy amable y la gente habla mucho, incluso los desconocidos en la calle. Son muy amables. Me encanta el clima. Suele hacer sol y me encanta el paisaje, que es muy bonito, sobre todo en Cantabria, con las montañas y la costa. Es muy bonito.

¿Qué sueles hacer en tu tiempo libre?
Anushka
Buena pregunta. En mi tiempo libre, bueno, me encanta hacer yoga y meditar. Así que, si tengo, por ejemplo, el fin de semana, siempre empiezo el día con yoga y meditación. Me encanta pasar tiempo en la naturaleza. Así que, por ejemplo, aquí está la playa. Así que a veces voy a la playa y me encanta bailar. Así que tomo algunas clases de baile y también leo mis libros.

¿Cuál es tu objetivo más cercano?
Anushka
Oh, esa es una muy buena pregunta Mi objetivo personal o profesional. Profesionalmente. Así que, por ejemplo, en la enseñanza quiero ser capaz de llegar a un punto en el que los estudiantes con los que trabajo, como vosotros, seáis capaces cuando trabajemos juntos, seáis capaces de hablar con fluidez y seáis capaces de tener más confianza. Lo más importante es tener confianza cuando habláis conmigo o cuando os habláis en inglés. Así que eso es profesionalmente, personalmente, un objetivo personal mío es aún tengo una buena. Normalmente puedo procrastinar mucho. ¿Sabes lo que sabes cuando tienes que hacer los deberes o tienes que trabajar y te sientas en el escritorio y dices, sé que tengo que hacer este trabajo, pero entonces voy a ir a mi teléfono o voy a buscar un sitio web diferente? Y al final han pasado dos horas y todavía no he hecho mi trabajo. Así que mi objetivo personal es dejar de procrastinar y ser más eficiente cuando trabajo.

¿Cómo fue el proceso para venir a Santander?
Anushka
Oh, fue muy difícil porque ahora debido al Brexit, tenemos que conseguir un visado. Tuve que conseguir un visado. Para venir a España y trabajar aquí. Y era muy caro conseguir un visado. Algunas cosas salieron mal. Hubo algunos problemas cuando me quitaron el pasaporte. Perdí mi. Vuelo inicial porque el visado no llegó a tiempo. Así que no me devolvieron el pasaporte a tiempo y se suponía que iba a empezar el 3 de octubre, pero no me devolvieron el pasaporte hasta el 4 de octubre, así que por eso vine aquí y empecé con vosotros el 5 de octubre, miércoles.

Anushka sidshadia is a twenty four year old woman of Indian origin who has lived in London for twenty two and is currently in Santander where she is taking small steps to achieve her dreams and become a brilliant teacher.

What do you mean for England?
Anushka
Good question. I miss, first of all, and most importantly, my family and my friends because here I came alone. So, I miss seeing my friends. I miss my family, my mum, my dad and my brother. I also miss. So in England, we have English breakfast. Which baked beans on toast. Do you know what is baked beans? No. It is it’s a very boring dish, but I miss it. Some of the food I miss and yeah, that’s about it.

When was the last time you visited him? What do you like the most about going back.
Anushka
Last time I visited England? And so the last time I was in England was in September. And I so I finished my master’s degree and I finished university and I went back to London to see my family and I and traveling with my friends and we had a really good summer. What do I like the most about going back? Probably the comforts of home being with my mom. My mom’s cooking is amazing. So I love going back for the food.

Anushka
I admire, like romantically or someone I admire, like a role model, like. The question is someone I admire like a role.

Anushka
Person. So one person that’s like a role or someone that I admire is, Michelle Obama. So she is not only a really good writer and speaker, she’s very… I love the values that she represents. She’s very kind. She’s very humble. She tries to do good for people. And I think she’s a good role model to have for people to look up to I.

Why do you want to be a teacher ?
Anushka
Good question. So, I love teaching because, I think that it’s very special to help students on their journey. And when I was younger, I still remember the teachers that taught me and the ones that really good. They changed my life. And the teachers that were, for example, my geography teacher was really good. And also I had a design, you guys have technology class, right. So I had a design and technology teacher she was also brilliant. And because they believed in me, they helped me. They made me ambitious. They really changed my life and they helped me a lot. So, I hope that I can also help other students because teachers have a very it’s very important to have good teachers.

What do you like most about Spain?
Anushka
I really like the people here because people are very friendly and people talk a lot and they’re very kind, even strangers on the street. They’re very kind. I love the weather. Usually it’s sunny and I love the landscape is very beautiful, especially in Cantabria with the mountains and the Coast. It’s very beautiful.

What do you usually do in your free time?
Anushka
Good question. In my free time, well, I love to do yoga and to meditate. So I if I have for example, on the weekend, I’ll always begin my day with yoga and meditation. I love spending time in nature. So, for example, here there is the beach. So I sometimes go to the beach and I love dancing. So I take some dance classes and also reading my books.

What is your closest professional or professional target?
Anushka
Oh, that is a very good question? My personal or professional target. Professionally. So for example in teaching I want to be able to reach a point where the students I’m working with, like you guys, you are able to with it when we work together, you’re able to talk fluently and you’re able to be more confident. Most important thing is to have confidence in when you speak to me
or when you speak to each other in English. So that’s professionally, personally, a personal target of mine is to a I’ve got a good one. Usually I can procrastinate a lot. Do you know what you know when you have homework to do or you’ve got work to do and you’re like you sit at the desk and you’re like, I know I need to do this work, but then I’ll go on my phone or I’ll look up a different website. And at the end it’s been two hours and I still haven’t done my work. So personal target is to stop procrastinating and be more efficient when I’m working.

How was the process to come to Santander?
Anushka
Oh, it was very difficult because now because of Brexit. We don’t we have to get a visa. I had to get a visa. To come to Spain and to work here. And it was very expensive to get a visa. Some things went wrong. There were some problems when they took my passport. I missed my. Initial flight because the visa did not come back in time. So they didn’t send my passport back in time and I was supposed to begin on the third of October, but I only got my passport back on the fourth of October so that’s why I came here and I began with you guys on the fifth of October.
